Children’s Education
- Children’s Education Ministries Mission Statement
-
We desire that all children come to know how very precious they are in the Lord's sight.
It is our desire to help children:
- Understand the Gospel message so that they may more personally experience the peace and power that Christ brings as their Lord and Savior.
- Have opportunities to develop from an early age their God-given gifts through music, study, worship, evangelism, service to others, and stewardship of all that God has provided.
- Have opportunities to experience worship as an integral part of their Christian life.
- Develop a positive image of Christ and the church.

Christ’s Cobblestone Kingdom is for third to sixth graders and is based on the workshop rotation model approach to Christian education. Students in this program are led by shepherds who are with the same group of students each week. Each group meets in a four week cycle where the students attend a different workshop each week and study the same story in a different way. One week the group may be in the "Cyber Kingdom" (computer lab), "Loaves and Fishes" (kitchen), "Creation Station" (art), "Games for Life", "Real to Reel" (video), "Bible Smart", or "Center Stage". (drama). Each of the seven workshops has a leader who presents the Bible story, introduces the activity, and then the students completes a journal page allowing them to reflect on the lesson and how it relates to the student’s life today.

This year the Kids of the Cross Program will continue using Witness Curriculum. All the ages/grades in this program will be studying the same Bible story each week. This has given families an excellent opportunity for discussing the learning that goes on each week in their children’s Church School classes.
There will be "take home" pages for each age/grade which will help move the Bible stories from the Church School classrooms to the children’s homes. We are looking forward to another great year for the Kids of the Cross Program.

- Count Me In! Volunteer Opportunities
-
We are a congregation that "cares for kids" through our Christ-centered programs. Each year it takes more than 100 volunteers to make our programs a success. There are many opportunities in various areas and time commitments. Some examples are resource preparation, snack helper, games leader, teacher, craft helper, shepherd. Opportunities are available weekly, monthly, or a one time special event. Pick up a volunteer registration form.
Some volunteer positions fill quickly, so turn in your forms promptly for the best selection of opportunities! If you are having trouble deciding where your gifts and talents can be best used, please don’t hesitate to call the C.E. office 437-9052, ext 20 or 27
