Ministry with youth, children and their families at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church is a dynamic team effort. It takes the efforts and dedication of many people staff members, parents, and volunteers to carry out this ministry. We are here to help all of our members grow in faith and take their place in our congregation and world as those who proclaim and embody the love of Jesus Christ.

OSEL’S MISSION STATEMENT: Making Christ Known
In OSEL’s goals and values to make Christ known: GROWING, EQUIPPING, BELONGING, and SERVING.

Through various opportunities geared at growing, equipping, belonging, and serving, OSEL seeks to make Christ known among youth and families through worship, service projects, fellowship, study, mission, music and creating opportunities to see all of the places where God is working in our everyday life.

School Year 2011-2012

Homework and Hangout (H2)

Wednesday afternoons during the school year from 2:30-5:30pm in the Youth Center. Grades 5-8. High School students are welcome to be leaders.

R&R: Renew and Restore

Wednesday evenings from 5-7:30pm. Children, youth, and families of all ages!

High School Study and Discussion

Wednesday evenings during the school year from 6:15-7:30pm. Grades 9-12.

Confirmation

Wednesday evenings during the school year from 6:15-7:30pm. Grades 7-9 (9th grade students join the high school study and discussion as part of their confirmation requirements).

Coffeehouse

Wednesday evenings from 7:30-8:30pm in the Youth Center. Grades 7-12.

Creation Team

Second Wednesday of the month from 7:30-8:30pm in the Youth Center (during Coffeehouse)! Grades 9-12.

Lenten Coffeehouse

Wednesday evenings during Lent from 5:45-6:45pm in the Youth Center. Grades 7-12.

Note: Lenten Coffeehouse will begin for Lent 2012, with Ash Wednesday on February 22, and conclude the week before Holy Week.

SERVE the Lord!

Happens a few times a month on Sunday afternoons, typically from 12-4pm, though the time of day varies as well. Stay up to date via the Messenger, email updates, as well as announcements at worship! (For all youth and their families!)

Lake Wapogassett Bible Camp

• 2-3rd Grade: Friday, July 27, 2012- Sunday, July 29, 2012
• 4-9th grade: Sunday, July 29, 2012 to Friday, August 3, 2012
• Senior High TIM Team (Teens in Ministry): Friday, July 27, 2011 to Friday, August 3, 2012.

Summer Stretch

Wednesdays during the summer! Middle School Students, and High School students (10th grade +) may be leaders.

Mission Trips for Summer of 2012

Middle School Mission Trip to Green Bay, Wisconsin (June 10-15, 2012). High School Trip to New Orleans, Louisiana for the ELCA Youth Gathering (July 15-July 22, 2012).
