Middle School Youth Trip
Middle School Youth will be going on a Youth Works trip to Green Bay, WI, June 10-15, 2012. Our congregation is working with the non-profit organization, YouthWorks. YouthWorks puts together thoughtful mission trips, in order to help youth understand Christ and our action in faith. They put emphasis on relationship building, learning from a community, and practicing how to communicate Christ in our actions as we work together. High School Youth Trip
High School Youth will be going to New Orleans, Louisiana for the ELCA Youth Gathering, July 15-July 22, 2012. Our Saviour’s will be joining thousands of other ELCA Lutherans around the country, and worshipping together, serving together, and learning about justice, discipleship, and peacemaking at the NATIONAL YOUTH GATHERING. Even years after Hurricane Katrina, there is still work to be done in New Orleans. We’ll be serving the community and learning more about their stories, and deepening our faith in Christ.
VISION: The 2012 ELCA Youth Gathering will invite participants to return to New Orleans to dwell together as “ONE NEW HUMANITY,” remembering who we are in Christ and acting in response by forming faithful, wise and courageous leaders who will live among God’s faithful people, hear the word of God and share in the Lord’s Supper, proclaim the good news of God in Christ through words and deed, serve all people, following the example of Jesus, and strive for justice and peace in all the earth.
